Guitar Learning Basics: Tuning

It is very important to know how a guitar sounds like when it is tuned as opposed to when the strings either get too loose or tight. These will change the tones and the pitch of the strings when played and will sound discordant.

jamorama review review says, Learning to tune your own guitar is a very important aspect in playing the guitar. It should be second nature to the player to know if the tones are off key or gets too flat. There are mechanical tuners available for those who have difficulty in hearing the pitch; however, the best method is still using the ear to listen to the tones.

Press down and strike a note on the string, next strike the open note on the same string. Slowly adjust the string until it matches the sound of the fretted note. Move along by continuously pressing and adjusting the strings, the notes should match and blend, there should be no difference. Begin from a low pitch to high to prevent over tightening and breaking a string.
